I’m a huge art fan, so the Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival is one of my favorite annual events here in our town. More than 200 artists converge in the streets of downtown Fairhope beneath the now-iconic white tents.
What makes this event so great is the variety of art styles, everything from painting and sculpture to musical instruments and kitchen crafts. (Not to mention the kettle corn!) I have my favorites that I visit every year, but I also enjoy finding new talent and expanding my collection with eclectic treasures.
Not surprisingly, I love getting to the artists and hearing what inspires them. For me, that gives every piece of art a story that I remember when I see it hanging on my wall at home or at the office.
We’ve been doing some remodeling and redecorating at the Dorman house this year, and I have few spots waiting to be filled with just the right piece of art. Hmmm, I can’t wait to see what we find!
