Autumn Gann – Agent Spotlight Bio

Meet Autumn Gann! If you know Autumn…hey, even if you’ve only heard about her through the grapevine, then you know she’s as savvy as they come in designing a home! And this is no coincidence. Autumn and her husband, Matt, bought their first home as a fixer-upper, and in the two decades since that first purchase, they’ve lived in too many homes to count, enjoying the process of renovating, flipping, and building from scratch. For Autumn and Matt, it’s all about investing in real estate and the fun of keeping things fresh and new, never getting stuck in one style. But this hasn’t always meant that every move has been safe and easy.

Shortly after marrying, Autumn and Matt felt like they would rather live anywhere other than “home,” which, for both of them, was Baldwin County. They moved to Dalton, Georgia, then Montgomery, built a beautiful house, and both established quite successful careers in marketing and sales. Autumn was working with Shaw Industries at the time, where she specialized in flooring specifications and sales for over a decade and traveled widely, representing the company to four different states. This was in 2005: things were looking bright. Fast forward a couple years, and a personal catastrophic event, coupled with the market crash, made her pause a moment. Autumn and Matt both felt that they wanted their children to grow up surrounded by family, but to relocate back “home” now would be anything but a positive financial move. Nevertheless, Autumn tells how they knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was the right thing to do. Taking a step of faith, following that guiding light, they approached their employers about leaving, took out an unsecured line of credit, and returned to Baldwin County, buying a foreclosure in Daphne. All these details to say…Autumn knows that challenges like this have made her a better real estate agent, better able to understand and serve her clients. Autumn has seen firsthand that sometimes in order to move forward, you have to take what looks like a step back. Sometimes the right decision is not always the most profitable decision. Sometimes moving to a new home looks like blood, sweat, and tears. Having walked through it herself, Autumn offers the hand of hope and help, promising that you will come out on the other side.

Imagine that you walk into a room and every detail of the room from floor to ceiling embodies you, your personality, your hobbies…it is the room of “you.” Well, Autumn tends to leave her mark in much the same way! Cross the threshold of a room or home she’s designed, and you’ll know right away who’s the artist! Think traditional with an edge to it…like a sunroom-turned-dining room, moody damask skull wallpaper above the fireplace, or a European-type white resin monkey lamp. Autumn recognizes and embraces the flow of life and the changes it brings. People change, which means homes change, which means furnishings change, which simply means the chance to get creative! True to form, Autumn and Matt are currently finishing up a huge remodel in Fairhope before it’s on to the next adventure. At the end of the day, whether you need a fresh perspective about home or heart, you can’t do better than to turn to Autumn.
