Kim Thompson – Agent Spotlight Bio

Full of vitality and optimism, Kim Thompson is a dynamic individual whose varied experiences have cultivated wisdom and joy in her life. These attributes find expression whether the topic is real estate or life’s latest developments. At first a dedicated university student and then a driven employee, Kim’s line of work soon turned entrepreneurial as she and her husband undertook to build what is now a multi-state family business, followed by the development of her own real estate career. Every bit as fun as she is professional, Kim invests her days in doing what she loves, whether that be touring homes with her buyers, or spending a day at the beach with her family. It’s this enjoyment of everyday life that sets Kim apart and makes her so dear to us here at Mobile Bay Realty!

Kim and her husband have lived in Baldwin County for nearly 18 years now, and there is no place they would rather be. Over time, as they have poured themselves into the community and welcomed it into their own lives with open arms, Kim and Chris have truly made the Eastern Shore their home. In the early days, Kim was working for Remington College as a high school representative, organizing career fairs and connecting with local students, and Chris worked for AT&T. The couple decided it was time to expand, and they knew they wanted to stay firmly planted in Baldwin County. Thus came about Eastern Shore Inflatables! It began with just 4 inflatables in the Thompsons’ garage, with Kim handwriting contracts, Chris delivering, and their son, Nick, helping maintain the equipment. Since then, the business has expanded to over 250 inflatables, with warehouses in Daphne, AL and Pensacola, FL and an assortment of booked events ranging from backyard birthday parties to corporate events for regional colleges, military bases, and more! For almost 10 years, Kim maintained her position at Remington while continuing to build the family business, and it wasn’t until 2018 that her path began to wind toward real
estate.

When the college she worked for underwent a change of structure, Kim sensed it was time for a career shift. Recognizing her excellent interpersonal skills and superb customer service, Kim’s friends encouraged her to take the leap and obtain her real estate license. It didn’t take much convincing… Kim loves working with people and the flexibility that real estate affords held great appeal. But she would be quick to tell you that her favorite aspect of the work is the sparkle in a person’s eyes when they walk into a home and they know it’s the one for them–the place where they can see themselves doing life, having family meals, playing games, and praying together. For Kim, that sparkle is magical and she feels so blessed to be a part of that moment. Kim also loves the people she works alongside, noting that her fellow agents at MBR are her people: authentic, giving, trustworthy, people she really feels have her back.

Kim and Chris have made their work their lifestyle. Kim comments that with every job there are stresses, but being a self-employed business owner is a better kind of stress than taking on someone else’s. Regardless of what sort of work she has ever found herself doing, Kim’s objective has always been to truly provide exceptional customer service, go above and beyond, and develop relationships with her clients. With Kim, clients become friends, and friendships often lead to the best times, like spontaneous week-night camping trips! As she puts it, “my heart is full in the water and the woods.” She’s a beach girl… the sort that goes tent camping in the mountains and can out-ski you, too! And that is why we love her!
