Entering real estate in 2017 came very naturally for Amanda, as it allows her to use her talents and knowledge of the community to help clients find their perfect home!
New Year’s Eve 1984, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital, a cute bundle of joy arrived in the world a month early. Amanda (Sikes) Middleton just could not wait any longer to get life started! She grew up in the suburbs of Mobile, AL and spent most of her childhood outdoors, curled up with a book, or practicing piano and singing.
One week after graduating from Mary G. Montgomery, Amanda received a call from Lee University’s world-renowned vocal group, Voices of Lee, offering her a scholarship and asking her to move to Tennessee to begin rehearsals for their Summer Tour. Over the next few years, singing took Amanda across the US, Canada, Italy, Fiji, and Australia. Nashville, TN eventually beckoned her, so Amanda left Cleveland for the much more fascinating Music City. She spent the next few years soaking up the culture, making life-long friends, and managing a high-end salon. In 2010, Amanda returned home to Mobile in order to live closer to family and await what life had in store for her next.
What happened next, she could have never anticipated! The women in Amanda’s family had always possessed a passion for culinary art, and Amanda was no different. After months of baking and selling treats out of her home and at a Saturday market, a dream awakened in her and she opened Mobile’s first cupcake shop, Twist Cupcakes—closely followed by two additional shops in West Mobile and the Eastern Shore. During that time, Food Network asked Amanda to audition for Cupcake Wars and Christmas Baking Championship; she also baked cupcakes for Duck Dynasty, Vince Gill, and Bobby Deen. Amanda truly cherishes every opportunity she had to participate in people’s special moments and is grateful to have experienced such a dream come true. But after over 6 years of owning a successful business, marrying in 2015, and expecting her first child, Amanda decided it was time to start a new adventure.
In 2013, Amanda’s life took a turn when she met her husband, Travis! The two married in April of 2015 in Mobile’s oldest and fully restored residence, Fort Conde Inn. It was truly a night to remember. Amanda and her husband received their greatest blessing on May 3, 2017, Scarlett Adele Middleton! Surely Amanda will pass down her love of
baking and cooking to their daughter as well!
Amanda and Travis spend their spare time traveling as often as possible, walking in Fairhope with their little girl and pup, Toto, trying new restaurants, camping (when Travis can convince Amanda that sleeping on the ground is “fun”!), and enjoying the beautiful Gulf Coast beaches. These two stay busy, filling up their lives with as many beautiful memories as possible.
Amanda’s strong eye for architecture and design makes her truly talented at transforming houses into homes. Entering real estate in 2017 came very naturally for Amanda, as it allows her to use her talents and knowledge of the community to help clients find their perfect home. She works hard for her clients and understands the
weight of such a large investment. Nothing brings Amanda greater joy than bringing a smile to someone’s face…whether it be through cooking a meal, baking a sweet treat, or helping a client find a home to fill with memories. More than anything, Amanda wants to leave a legacy of deeply loving her family, working hard, constantly speaking love, and forever helping others.
